Cake Toppers & Ornaments

I have a little trouble with consistency.  I would like to promise that I'll post once per week from now on, but that wouldn't last long and then I would have lied to you.  So instead I will promise to post when I feel inspired, and hopefully that will be more often than once per month!

Here are a few cake toppers and ornaments from February:

Just click on the pictures to see them in my shop.

Thanks for stopping by!

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

I had a great time this week working on this 3" sculpture of a black and tan Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
His name is "Buck" and his owner says

"Buck is just the sweetest guy! He's friendly, gentle, cooperative, he's just a great dog."

Here is a picture of the real Buck:

My New Ornament

I went to the mail box today, and when I got there, guess who was waiting for me???

Just the cutest little ornament I ever have seen. She came all the way from Pennsylvania, from The Studio at Crow Haven Farm, and I LOVE her so much!!!

She was handmade by Michelle Schafer, a wonderful artist and ADO team member, and I was the lucky winner of this whimsical lady ornie in Michelle's recent blog giveaway. Woohoooo!

Thank you so much Michelle, I love your work and she is such a joy to have around, she'll go in my studio for inspiration, and a reminder of the generosity and creativity of my bloggy sister at Crow Haven Farm!

One World One Heart Giveaway...whooohooo!

Photo

I'm participating in the biggest blogger giveaway known to bloggers (or at least to this one)!

Please click the link above to learn about this fantastic world wide giveaway, and to jump on the Gypsy Caravan and take a ride around the world, through amazing blogs by amazing people!

It's the One World One Heart Giveaway, and all you have to do is leave a comment on THIS POST with an email or blog address so I can contact you if you win. I will choose a random winner on Feb 12. Click on the logo above to learn more about it. My giveaway is open to everyone, even if you do not have a blog.

Here is what I am giving away:

Strange Bird Owl Man Ornament

This is an odd little guy. He is Owl Man, a strange bird indeed.

He is strung on blue cord so you can hang him on a tree or anywhere you want him hanging around.

Owl man is made of polymer clay, he's perched on a real twig, and he has some feathers on top. He is handmade, ooak (one of a kind) and he is about 3" high, not including his blue cord.

AND:

Calavera Earrings Dia De Los Muertos Sugar Skulls

I Love La Dia de los Muertos, so I had my first rubber stamp produced from my own ink drawing of this skull, and I couldn't wait to get started using it!

Here I have some wonderful skull earrings with sterling silver earwires and vintage black faceted glass beads. The skulls are polymer clay which I stamped, cut, baked, painted, buffed, and glazed for your enjoyment.

The backs are painted with shiny enamel black acrylic paint. They hang 2.75" long1.5" wide.

They are very light weight and will not hurt your ears!

The first winner will receive both gifts, and I have decided to do a second giveaway in honor of my love of goddesses.

It's the Nile River Goddess on a blue batik flag.

The second winner will receive the Goddess flag.

If you only like the owl/skull giveaway, or if you only want the goddess flag be sure to note this in your comment!

Sign ups end at 11:59pm on Feb 11, winners will be announced on Feb 12!

Have fun and good luck!

Blessings,

Cousin Leland, AKA Sock Monkey

Three Sock Monkeys walked into a bar... These guys could have fun anywhere!

I have decided to explore my long time love of sock monkeys. As a child my great aunt Jenny had one she called "Cousin Leland", and I didn't know they were called sock monkeys until I was an adult (fairly recently, actually). Whenever I would see one somewhere I would say "Oh look, it's cousin Leland!" I never met the actual cousin Leland, but apparently the resemblance is striking.

These monkeys are ornaments made of polymer clay and jointed with beads and wire. I have hung them on a pretty red ribbon, and these guys are not just for Christmas trees, mind you. You'll enjoy them so much that you will want them hanging around all year!
They can sit, hang, and lay down for a nap (don't expect them to sleep though). Each monkey is handmade, one of a kind, by me, so the details will vary slightly. He will be about 3" long, and ready for a good time. You can get one here: SpiritMama.etsy.com
